"yes....said mechanic no longer works there and the fact that you didnt take this to the owner or answer her on here after you accuse the business of such awful service makes me question your actual experience."

So yes, I did bring up my concerns both times with the one owner - but both times I was told it either wasn't their problem or that "only the e-brake was changed."

If they hadn't removed my ability to reply to them I would have pointed out that the one Skinner guy was at the register when I questioned him about my brakes. I told him they were the last people to work on my vehicle, and he told me since it had been a few months they had no proof - and proceeded to charge me the amount for them bleeding the air out of my brake lines.

Personally I won't go back, but others may have a better experience.

Like I said at the beginning of my post, this is my personal experience with them and this was in approximately 2013 [air in brakes] and 2009 [e-brake] - so they might have changed, and according to them the one mechanic no longer works there... but it still doesn't negate that I tried to find a solution to the problems I had at the time and was turned away.

Another time, I bought my own brakes and had them change them out. Afterward I was told that some solenoid valve was leaking by and that's why my brakes were spongy. I decided to wait to have that repaired as I couldn't afford the additional cost at that moment. In the spring [brakes changed in fall] I took the truck back to get the valve changed and - the exact same mechanic I had previously - told me that there was just air in the brake lines, so they bled it off. I was still charged, even when I said that they were the last ones touching the brakes.

Now, just this week, sold, mounted and balanced two tires for my sons car, at almost half price of everyone else in town again, which they brought in within 24hrs, and since the car was on stands in our yard, they even put markings on the tires to indicate which should go on the left and right so that the tread would be aligned correctly when my son put them on the car himself.

Great service every visit. Fully explained what was happening with my aging car and provided options. Sold, mounted and balanced tires for our truck, for almost half the price of everyone else in town, well over a year ago, which have been across Canada twice now, and they are still in great shape.

I've been to skinner and sons for years and I will not go anywhere else. Reliable, great prices, and very trustworthy!

He was also there when I asked why my brake pads were squealing for some reason after having them all replaced beforehand.

Also, they're getting below a 3 star review, as I had originally posted this to their Facebook page and they replied with:

I know other people who have had good service, I however haven't. Years ago I was told that all of my brakes were changed, and paid several hundred for the job. About 6 months later the brakes were squealing again. I was told that they were shot and needed to be replaced, and when questioned about the previous charge I was told it was just the e-brake that was replaced. Seemed pricey for one brake, and was unsure why only it was changed when it was the squealers making noise that brought me in the first time.

The thing Is, is that they blocked me on their Facebook page so I could no longer post any comments or edit my original comment to respond to their statement.
